We use ZAP-X specifically for conditions affecting the head and neck region, for example small benign central lesions within the brain. For larger lesions - particularly those located well below the skull base - the CyberKnife system may offer advantages because of its considerably broader range of applications.
The ZAP-X system is fully self-shielded, allowing treatment to take place in a room with natural daylight rather than in a concrete radiation bunker. This means that relatives or other accompanying persons, as well as the treatment team, can remain in the treatment room throughout the entire treatment session.
We have already established framework agreements for reimbursement with AOK Bayern and most private health insurers, also on the basis of more than 20 years of trusted cooperation. Contractual negotiations with additional health insurance providers are currently ongoing.
